Oak House Brewery
Brewing Beer at Home
Brewing Beer at home is a fantastically rewarding hobby and not only allows you to make Beers that match your own tastes but will also result in beers of a very high quality. You will soon find that your beer is better than some of the commercially produced ones.
This site mainly covers the "All Grain" Method of brewing, detailing the processes from start to finish. This is the best way to produce beers that rival and exceed the quality of the main breweries.
I have been brewing "on and off" for over 25 years and have found that there is a lot of confusing and contradictory advice on both the internet and in published books. The Beer pages on this site, document tried and tested methods to produce great beer.
Click on the Brewery image or use the "Beer Home" Navigation link at the top of the page for the Beer Home page.
A great way to follow the steps required for an "All Grain" Brew without having to read every step in detail, is to follow one of my brewing journals.
The journals follow every step, including "Cock Ups", and can provide real insight into the practicalities of a brew day. Everything from the recipe , strike heat, timings, to final tasting notes are covered.
Take a look at the Brewing Journals Index.
